Freeskiers

Its not biking related but who cares its christmas eve and this is cool to watch

Matt Hunter in Japan

Matt Hunter, professional mountain biker and adventure seeker, finds inspiration traveling the world, exploring new trails and having unique experiences that could only happen on a bike. Matt’s latest adventure brought him, along with photographer Sterling Lorence and videographer Matt Miles, to one of the most culturally rich and largely underrated riding spots in the world—Japan.

Aaron Chase

"The forest out here in British Columbia is magical," said Chase. "The trees are huge, the trails are steep, and you’re doing whatever it takes to keep your tires on."

The ride begins on a steep mossy rock-roll worthy of any Coast Mountain edit, but then things quickly step up a notch. With freeride icon Brett Tippie along to stoke the session, Chase’s legendary riding skills are showcased hitting up a precise, high-consequence log-ride-to-drop built and pioneered by Darren Berrecloth.

To finish, Chase and eventually Tippie send a ridiculous gap jump over a creek. “The consequences are super high," said Chase of the trail's most robust feature. "You’re field-goaling between two trees and there’s a pretty ninja pump track to get into it.”

Merry Christmas

Chris Akrigg is in this...

Ho! Ho! Ho! The boys from Mongoose delivering the goods….

From the UK to California, the whole Mongoose crew helped deliver a holiday miracle in this edit. On his way to drop off the very last package of the year, Santa gets a little too excited riding trails that he gets a flat and can’t finish the job. So what does he do? He calls the Mongoose Express to lend a helping hand. Watch Greg Illingworth, Kevin Peraza, Paul Ryan, Steve McCann, Greg Watts, Chris Akrigg, and Mike Montgomery make sure they get the parcel to the right place all while riding a few great places along the way. Ben Wallace is still recovering with his knee so he gets to sit by a pool sipping on a fancy drink.

Akrigg

Its no secret that we worship Chris Akrigg at dirtwest. This time Chris takes us on a cyclocross ride...

Well here we go again, the second instalment of riding the bike with the curly whirly bars and skinny tyres. We are currently at the hight of the Cyclocross season so i thought it was about time i dug the cyclocross bike out for another spin. I read somewhere that Cyclocross originated for roadies back in the day trying to spice up their winter training. They would race from point to point using whatever means possible, racing down farm track and running across fields with the bike on there back etc. That was their spin. My back ground is Trials, and this is my spin!

This pumptrack apparently is in the city of Stuttgart. The pump track was completed this month in Neugereut . It was designed and built by Konrad Willar who has already made a name with the pump tracks in Weilimdorf and Botnang .

This type of all season track would require very little upkeep. It's fun for all levels of riders and can be used by more than just cyclists.  Pumptracks also take up a small footprint and lets face it they look dope. Pumptracks rule! Here is a video of the Weillimdorf track being riden by some young folk  check out 2:52 for a track walk.

Invergarry tree planting

Today we planted 95 trees and 105 shrubs in the meadow area between Little Shredder and Excitabike in Invergarry Bike park. We had a great turn out of volunteers from SORCE! Big thanks to the City of Surrey for supplying tools, plants and people power too!  In the past three years SORCE has planted over 500 plants in Invergarry park alone. Food and drinks were generously donated by Guildford Starbucks located at 10174 - 152nd Street

76 foot drop

When Graham Agassiz and Andreu Lacondeguy began building a lip-heavy line at Red Bull Rampage with heavy drops on each end, the rest of the field wondered how they would pull it off. Yesterday, they answered part of the question by sending a gigantic step-down, and they did it by pushing each other out of their comfort zones — watch it happen in the video after the jump>>>

Invergarry update

The new trails Little Shredder & Excitabike
Its been a while since we had an Invergarry update. Well the wait is over. The grass is greening in nicely and the trails are riding well. There are still a few tweaks to be made on the Excitabike line before we call the new trails finished but we are really pleased with the results so far! Alpine Bike Parks has done a fantastic job of the new trails and signage in Invergarry. Big thanks go to the City of Surrey for funding this exciting project! Be sure to check it out. Oh and don't forget SORCE is holding pumptrack race on the Cornercopia pumptrack this Sunday July 6 at 10am. Its $2 to enter with a 2014 SORCE membership(for insurance purposes) We hope to see you there!

On Sunday, May 31, 2009 the cruiser community of Vancouver lost a great friend and enthusiast; he will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
Darcy was a founding member of The 362's and a regular rider of the Thursday night rides in Surrey; a memorial ride was therefore declared for the Thursday, June 4, 2009 after his passing.
It was to be a small gathering of friends that had ridden with Darcy throughout his downhill and cruiser riding years; it was an impromptu but natural decision that was made just days prior to the ride and as such only a handful of people were expected to come out and ride the trails of Green Timbers that Darcy loved so much.
As Thursday approached and we finally made our way to the Bike Zone I was in shock to see almost sixty riders ready to ride and celebrate Darcy's life. A night that would have made Darcy proud....not over how many Kokanee's were drank but of all the people that took time out of their schedule to honor a great friend.
Rest in Peace Darcy and may you always have a tail wind at your back.....

SORCE Toonie # 2

The second Toonie race of the year was held on the Junk Yard Dog course at the South Surrey Bike Park last Sunday. It was a super rainy day and that definitely affected turnout. We had seventeen racers show up to brave the rain and a bunch of folks who were preregistered stayed home warm in their beds. Here is some biking in Washington

Kevin is one of the most determined riders I have met. At age 19, he has made mountain biking his way of life, so when we contacted him with a filming inquiry, he was down whenever the time and whatever the weather. After a rainy Saturday of filming, we were stoked with the footage, and we wish Kevin the best as he trains for the Pro GRT Series in hopes of winning an overall. Enjoy as he, aboard his Evil Undead, rides in solitude through the dripping forests of beautiful Cascadia, Washington. Thanks to Rhoddy Jensen for photography and additional cinematography.

Dennis Enarson 2014 Video

So many incredible moments in this new edit for demoltion bikes.

Dennis Enarson 2014 Video

Published on Apr 15, 2014
Dennis Enarson and good friend, Christian Rigal originally set out to make a quick lil promo video for Dennis' new Rig line of parts but ended up coming back with 6 minutes of bangers on just about everything rideable from SD to SF. There's not enough words that can describe how good Dennis is on a bike and how much control he has on dirt, street and ramps. Dennis' Rig line bars (out now), tires and cranks are fully designed and tested (thoroughly by the looks of this video) by Dennis himself. Watch now and be ready to get stoked.
