Invergarry

Little Shredder surfacing

The City of Surrey teamed up with some from volunteers last week to resurface the green flow trail: Little Shredder in Invergarry bike park! No more bumps and rocks poking through the trail. Most of the trail has been capped in crushed gravel to smooth things out and increase durability. The nice thing about crushed gravel is that surfacing material can be material added on top and it will adhere really well. It rides great and is only on rollers and not any berms or corners. The decision was made to use it over the clay-loam due to a lack of moisture in the soil on site at the time of the volunteer event. With no water at Invergarry summer building is tough to do.

Invergarry

grass reclaiming an underridden section

mid process

a little further

done for now... now we need rain
Sometimes the best time to build new stuff is when its dry and dusty. Its really easy to make some moves on stuff that can't/wont be ridden until the rainy season. This is one such spot... a part of the cornercopia pumptrack was growing grass(a sure sign a line isn't being ridden) so we switched it up... Now to wait for some rain so we can pack and shape it into a working line. That's the trade... easy earth move but a line that wont be finished for a while...

We volunteered for the City of Surrey recently and built two pumptracks at Fun Fun park in South Surrey. Above is the pumptrack construction video. Expect us to post more photos soon... The tracks aren't fully packed and shaped yet but they will be ready for bikes soon, until then please don't ride them:)

Here are some panoramic shots from taken throughout the construction process:

Dustin Gilding

Dustin had a big hand in how the new trail Shovel Buster turned out in Invergarry bike park. he is a great rider and a super friendly down to earth fella. Its great to see him getting the exposure he deserves! Watch this short edit filmed in his parent's back yard.

Dustin Gilding has spent the last 6-7 years digging his ass off to transform his family's property in Abbotsford, BC into an intricate personal bike park. Liam Mullany and Bryce Piwek spent the weekend at Gilding's yard and came back with this short piece reflecting on the sheer sweat equity he has put into his trails, as well as the subsequent opportunities he has created for himself through building. Jungle

The Jungle exists somewheres in the forests of Washington state. It looks like a dope spot and its cool to see when edits pop up showing the building there. I also like how mountain bikes and bmxs get along there. Check out this old edit of the spot...

The Revealing

Lots of really excellent building in this video. There is a really cool high speed manual thru a big whoops section and some big whips in this one. Rider: Dustin Gilding

Here's the revealing part 2 with more of a focus on dirt jumping. The trails are all built by Dustin in his back yard in Abby... pretty sick!
