Phase 1 of the construction at Invergarry bike park is now complete. Well... What does that mean? It means the machines are done and any dirt from now on gets moved by hand. There is a lot of stuff to ride, and some stuff that needs finishing, so come out to the bike park this Saturday!
The new bike park features an XC loop which climbs and descends thru many types of forest. There is an all-levels freeride trail called Shovel Buster with jumps meant to remind you of Whistler's Crank it Up and Aline. The bike park also features a unique advanced/Expert only freeride gap jump area located in a natural sloped-bowl area, located right near by is the beginner jump area. The park also features a large pump track with a ton of lines and fun corners.
The City of Surrey will be on hand to provide lunch for attendees and be there to answer questions. SORCE (Surrey Off-Road Cycling Enthusiasts) will be there to sign up new members. So be sure say Hi to SORCE while you are there. SORCE works really hard to put on races like the BC Cuo XC race 'the JunkYard dog'. SORCE looks after all the bike parks in Surrey and they rely upon volunteers to keep everything running smoothly. SORCE is in urgent need of volunteers, so any help is appreciated! . The focus of Saturday's dig day will be packing and shaping the pump track, and buffing and shaping and building on the freeride trail. The dig day will be led by Derek and Jordan from Dirtwest.
There is a great bike park to enjoy in Invergarry, but as with any machine-built riding features, they need some love before they are perfectly shaped and rideable. Please come out to the event and if you want to help out some more sign up to SORCE
