So every once in a while. Well, every year actually, there is a special event called the UCI world championships. This year they are being held in South Africa on the flatest most pedally course imaginable. Yay! Tons of riders are running weird setups; 650b wheels, air shocks, all mountain bikes and womens panties, anything to get an edge. The Parkins brothers always drop a great edit for Dirt magazine and this is true to form. Watch and enjoy and watch the redbull broadcast tomorrow because Steve Smith is winning.

Greg Minaar
Some guy I never heard of has a new video out. Whats a Santa Cruz?... some sort of mexican Christmas bike? Sometimes I just don't get things. Oh well, here is what the video description says:
When Gary Perkin and Greg Minnaar come together for a video, you get 20-minutes of awesomeness. A must-watch on your road to World Champs.
Who is Greg Minnaar? What are his roots? Why is Pietermaritzburg so pivotal in his success? And what is OneLife? We'll attempt to answer these and other questions about the two-time Downhill World Champion and three-time World Cup Champion with this OneLife short.
Filmed over the course of 10 months when travel & plans permitted, from when Greg won the 2012 Downhill World Championships in Leogang, Austria, till the eve of the 2013 World Championships in his hometown of Pietermaritzburg.

Bike elevator
If he just built the treehouse on the ground he would have saved himself a lot of trouble. But he didn't so there now. I can't wait to get invited over to this guys house! Lets so the math: a rickety 30 year old bike, thin ropes, towering heights, and a boulder to fall on and no one even got hurt. This bike elevator clearly relies heavily on witchcraft. Burn it now with fire!!!
I have built a tree house (though it is not finished yet) that is nearly 30 feet up a tree. I got tired of climbing a ladder six and a half million times a day, so I made a bicycle powered elevator to solve this problem. Don't you wish you had one? :p I welcome any questions or comments.

The youngest rider being three! The categories were split between beginner (ages3-6) Novice (6-13) and Advanced (13&up). A total of 23 riders created a really and fun and diverse race. The winning Advanced time went to Invergarry local Scott Davidson with a time of 30.1 seconds on the three lap course. Lots of photos after the jump...
The next SORCE event is race #4 in the twoonie race series: An XC race September 15 at the SSBP, see you there!!!

Michal Marosi
During the craziest fourcross race ever at JBC 4X Revelations Michal Marosi did something unbelievable! Crashed hard on a pro jump section, got back on his bike and passed rest of the riders on the wallride!
Cycling doesn’t really lend itself to spectacular overtaking manoeuvres but this move pulled off in the Czech Republic recently is just out of this world.
The clip is a few days old at this stage but is only after coming to our attention today but regardless of how many times you see this it will never get old, such is the audacity of an overtaking move pulled off by Michal Marosi to claim victory at a JBC 4X Revelations race in the Czech Republic recently.
Leading the race early doors, Marosi suffered a setback when he came off his bike having slipped on the way down from a huge aerial descent and it looked as if his chances of winning the race had ended there and then.
Undeterred, Marosi got back on his bike and pursued the two cyclists in front of him until one of the final corners when he rode up and along the wall and past both of his fellow competitors to claim victory only seconds later; a reward worthy of the brilliant piece of skill which preceded it.
Breath-taking stuff.
